Our last stage through Spain led us from Toledo via Pamplona up to Roncesvalles. We planed almost nothing in advance. We are turning right or left driven by our feelings and a bit by our offline map, okay;-).
Von Toledo über Pamplona herauf nach Roncesvalles ging unsere Etappe heraus aus Spanien. Wie immer haben wir nichts vorgeplant, wir biegen einfach rechts oder links ab, je nach Gefühl. Ein bisschen hilft die Offlinemap auf dem Handy, okay. Und diesmal war es ein voller Erfolg, kinderleicht! Tolle herbstliche Täler, alte Städte, Kirchen oder Burgen und kleine leere Straßen durch tiefe Schluchten.
Und sonst… Nach etwa einer Woche Sonnenschein und klaren kalten Nächten ist der Regen zurück. Eigentlich wollten wir die Pyrenäen auf einem namhaften hohen Pass überfahren, durch den Wetterumschwung wurde es zu „Pyrenäen light“ über einen ca. 1000 Meter hohen Pass. War auch schön und die letzte Nacht in Spanien in der Pilgerherberge Roncesvalles war sehr eindrucksvoll. Ein richtiger Bikertreff ist der Santiago de Compostela. Eine dreiköpfige Familie auf einem Tandem, ein Brasilianer auf einem Fatbike, zwei Radler mit brandneuen Hardtails direkt aus der Box und ein Grieche sportlich auf dem Touren-Rennrad. Kein Klagen über Regen, sondern top Stimmung unter Gleichgesinnten. Danke für den Abend.
Jetzt geht es weiter durch Frankreich. Es ist fast Zieleinlauf. Für uns ist das schwer, gemischte Gefühle von Freude bis hin dazu, dass wir immer langsamer werden um ja nicht anzukommen. Wir genießen jede Kurve und Bodenwelle.

Spain for Beginners
Our last stage through Spain led us from Toledo via Pamplona up to Roncesvalles. We planed almost nothing in advance. We are turning right or left driven by our feelings and a bit by our offline map, okay;-). It was a great success, for beginners. Amazing valleys in autumn mood, old medieval towns, churches or castles and empty tiny roads.
What else? After one week of perfect sunshine and cold and clear nights the rain is back. So we had to change our route over the Pyrenees and take a lower pass. No problem, we got a wonderful night in a Albergue for Pilgrims in Roncesvalles. A real get together for biker! One family on a Tandem bike, on Brazil fellow on a Fatbike, two guys with brand new Hardtails out of the box and one sportive biker from Greece on a Touring Roadbike. No complaints about the bad weather, just top atmosphere among like-minded. Thanks!
Now we are continuing in France. We are close to the finish line. With mixed feelings. We look forward to arrive, but we also slow down to be on the road a little bit longer. We do enjoy ever turn and bump.
